Academic Integrity and Responsibility: Building the Student’s Professional Identity
This workshop aims to promote the values of academic integrity and responsibility among students, considering them as fundamental pillars in building a successful professional identity. It focuses on raising students’ awareness of the concept of academic integrity and its significance in their academic and professional journeys, in addition to introducing proper research practices such as accurate citation of sources and the avoidance of plagiarism. The workshop also addresses the role of individual responsibility in adhering to ethical standards within and beyond the university environment, while fostering critical thinking skills and encouraging self-reliance in completing academic tasks. Furthermore, it presents practical examples and case studies to help students understand the ethical challenges they may encounter and how to address them with awareness and professionalism. Overall, the workshop seeks to prepare students who possess a high level of ethical awareness and are capable of representing their educational institutions with competence and integrity in the labor market and society.
